    There is a post from 4 years ago on Reddit r/jellyfin from a Jellyfin Team member saying: "Mixed libraries are basically never the right answer. It's really hard for the scanner to correctly identify a media type based on a folder name, and support for them in clients is frustrating at best. That library option is mostly there for legacy reasons."

    They go on to say: "it was there when we forked, nobody has removed it yet, and if we remove it now a small subset of people will revolt."

    I appreciate the clarification, but I would ask how users are supposed to handle niche / independent content which maybe you don't expect there to exist public metadata for at all, and which doesn't fit neatly into the existing categories? For instance, I have a collection of instructional VHS/DVD/YouTube content (and another collection of academic lectures) ripped to my library, where some of it is serial and some is one-off. I would really like to avoid creating two separate "How-To (Movies)" / "How-To (Series)" libraries.

    I don't necessarily need Jellyfin to fetch metadata and cover art for me; are there existing library types that support this use case? I really do think that, at a minimum, this use case should be acknowledged in the docs and forums, even if only to say "We don't officially support a way of doing this yet." Surely, I can't be the only one who has a whole collections of obscure media types that you wouldn't expect to find on tmdb or omdb?

    (also congratulations to the devs on another release; always very grateful for the free software 🙇🏻)

    There is "home videos and photos" library type which I use for a use case similar to yours.

    Is anyone running v10.11.5 and using Jellyfin for Kodi with no issues and all of the following library types tested?

    - Movies
    - TV Shows
    - Music Videos
    - Music
    - Pictures

    Do full sync from scratch and Kodi Sync Queue both perform without substantial delay over 10.10.7?

    Damn I've been having problems for months, at first the symlinks didn't work, then they were solved but in the meantime the TV Series library doesn't recognize the EPISODES.

    I mean, you really have to be indifferent...
    I understand that it's a free and volunteer project, but things can get overlooked.
    Come on, why is it so difficult?

    In the Movies & TV Shows library, TV shows are recognized, seasons are recognized, and episodes are recognized too.

    On the TV Series library, however, no, TV series are recognized, seasons are recognized, but episodes are not.

    PLEASE, CAN YOU FIND TIME FOR THIS PROBLEM?
    THANK YOU!!!

    Why do you need to use symlinks?  Can you not just map the drive?

    I still have the same problem as in 10.11.4 :

    Cannot install in Windows 11 Pro **clean Install** because Smart App Control is blocking the jellyfin .exe installer.

    You can't reproduce this in Windows 11 installations that was upgraded from previous versions that are considered "dirty" and the Smart App Control is not enabled.

    It is enabled only in clean - reseted Windows 11 installations, so i can't install jellyfin server.

    In 10.11.3 version all Ok - i can install.

    You must send feedback along with a copy of the app in order for MS to confirm who wrote the app.

    Nice! TY for the work.

    Any news on the plugin compatability?

    Since upgrading to 10.11, I get a errors and lockup upon accessing the plugins.
    Initially the plugins just didnt work, but last two times it filled the memory with error logs and then corrupted the boot drive.

    Has anyone else had this issue?

    "I don't have problems, and all the bug reports on github ( https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/15685 ) are just fantasy. The problem must be you"... yeah...

    @Kubwa I don't think the person who made the previous post was saying that there are no problems. They are just saying that there may be something in a particular configuration that may be wrong since it is working well for others.

    Hello everyone 😊,

    I’m running Jellyfin server on Windows 11 and am still on version 10.10.7 – I had to downgrade because the newer versions didn’t work reliably for me.

    I have a question regarding home videos: in version 10.10.7, it’s possible to manage them using an “infinite” folder system, meaning deeply nested folder structures like in File Explorer. However, this no longer seems to work in the newer versions – is there any plan to bring this functionality back?

    I would wish that Jellyfin receives a bit more attention and care for .nfo in the future.
    Specifically on more Episodes in one file, <multiepisodeinfo> feels more modern and flexible, and it works fine in Kodi, Media Companion, and other tools – is it really that difficult to make this compatible with Jellyfin’s database? I currently always have to choose whether they are compatible with Kodi and my Media Managers, or Jellyfin. This can be quite limiting.

    Another point concerns ratings: would it ever be possible for Jellyfin to not only import the rating value but also the votes from .nfo files? Even better, could Jellyfin support multiple ratings per item, for example:

    <ratings>
        <rating name="imdb" max="10" default="true">
            <value>6.400000</value>
            <votes>32291</votes>
        </rating>
        <rating name="themoviedb" max="10">
            <value>6.300000</value>
            <votes>421</votes>
        </rating>
        <rating name="metacritic" max="10">
            <value>6.300000</value>
            <votes>39</votes>
        </rating>
        <rating name="tomatometerallcritics" max="10">
            <value>6.800000</value>
            <votes>208</votes>
        </rating>
        <rating name="tomatometerallaudience" max="10">
            <value>5.300000</value>
            <votes>9147</votes>
        </rating>
    </ratings>

    Here the rating name isn’t fixed – it could be <rating name="whatever" max="10"> – and Jellyfin would simply import it into the database. Displaying them is a separate matter.

    I’d really appreciate any feedback or insights from those who have tried the latest version 🙏

    Best regards
