Dear Forum,
I have installed jellyfin from the SynoCommunity on a NAS.
I couldn't get the scan for items working at all, it remained at 0% all the time. (even after a few hours)
- I had given sc-jellyfin read permissions to the folder containing the movies
- I had given sc-ffmpeg7 read permissions for the same folder.
- I had enabled advanced share permissions and there i alsi gave sc-jellyfin and sc-ffmpegy read permissions
I checked the logfile and no longer found the permissions error , but there was still no progress on the scanning
So I guessed I must have missed something in the process, so I wanted to start over again.
I uninstalled jellyfin (choosing the option "erase all of the package date filed).
Then reinstalled it.
But then, when openeing the package, it does not give me the option to register a new user (admin user) , but asks me to sign in with a user.
But it does not recognize my old user(s) or passwords.
So it seems that it vaguely remembers there were users before, but it deleted the credentials
How do i completely remove traces from the system so that I can reinstall from fresh?
Or how do I create a new user if I can only get the sign-in page
Oh, btw.. the Forgot password option does not help. (Please try again within your home network to initiate the password reset process... but I AM on the home network)
Thanks people.
Wow, that aged well.
I opened the jellyfin app again from within the synology homepage again after posting.. and it goes straight to
/web/#/wizardstart.html
So that problem seems solved!!!
Let's hope i can scan my files after making new users etc etc.
