I have tried to use Caddy and NGINX to no avail.

Just trying simple HTTP access first before introducing certificates.

One thing I am doing is running the proxy on a different device than the Jellyfin server.

Caddy or NGINX run on an Ubuntu server, while Jellyfin is running on a Synology NAS.

When I connect via the proxy, the page ends up timing out.  All I get is a blank page.

    Any thoughts?

Check that Ubuntu's firewall is configured to allow port 80 and 8096.

Can you share your jellyfin logs with us? And can you also share your nginx config, caddy config, and any logs they may have generated?

Thanks for the response!  Sorry it took so long but I got a new VM host to run ubuntu/nginx on.  All is well now!
