    Hello Jellyfin Forums!
I have an issue where whenever I try to play any episode of Better Call Saul, it just keeps giving me "Playback failed due to an error decoding the media". Weirdly, it plays perfectly fine on my phone, browser and any other device, and it's only Better Call Saul that gets an error on the TV.
I tried to look in the logs but couldn't find anything of interest. But I do have a suspicion that it might be the EAC-3 audio codec that's causing the TV to crap itself.
I hope you guys can help me find a fix for this.

Here is the relevant pastebin for the log.

My server is running Jellyfin 10.9.11 on Windows.
    This is my server's platform:
    - Intel i5-9300H
    - 8GB DDR4 Ram
    - NVIDIA RTX 2060
    - Windows 11 Home 23H2 installed on a 256GB SSD
    - 1TB HDD for storing media

The TV I'm running is an LG 50UF830T using the Jellyfin app.
Thanks in advance for your help!

My dude. Most of us are in the EU or the US. We are asleep. No need to bump after 10 hours.

Is your TV connected to a sound bar or receiver. I'm assuming your TV is running WebOS. Can you try setting the maximum allowed audio channels to stereo?

Settings > Playback (not the one in dashboard)
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (Docker)
    Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS w/HWE

Hi, I've tried setting it to mono and stereo now and it's still showing the error, and it sometimes also says "Unable to find a valid media source to play". The TV isn't connected to anything, it's playing with its built in speakers.

Can you share a screenshot of Dashboard > Playback? I recall another user with a similar problem.

Here's the screenshot. Meanwhile, I seem to have found that just using the web browser would properly display the content, but the cursor just sits in the middle of the screen making it distracting.
Could you elaborate further about the problem you've seen? Just so I can maybe figure it out and see what's happening.
    Thanks a ton!

Try unchecking enhanced NVDEC. If that doesn't work, also uncheck HEVC and HEVC 10-bit so that the CPU decodes the video.

I just tried all of that now, still doesn't want to work for some reason. I saw in the specifications for my tv that it supports HEVC, so it doesn't seem like it would need transcoding right? Unless the logs are telling you otherwise.

The settings I asked be changed only has to do with how the server handles transcoding.

The logs don't say why it is being transcoded. Do you know what version of WebOS is on your TV is running? And can you try playing the same video on the TV's browser for testing?
