Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing performance issues with video playback on a Mi Box S (3rd generation) when using the Jellyfin client. My setup is:
- Jellyfin latest version running in a container on a Synology DS218+ (with HW acceleration enabled).
- Client: Mi Box S (3rd gen) running the latest Jellyfin Android TV app.
- Network: wired and wireless both tested.
The strange thing is:
- On my WebOS TV, playback works perfectly.
- On a Mi Box S (2nd gen), playback also works fine (both internal and external players).
- On the Mi Box S (3rd gen), playback lags heavily or doesn’t start at all with the internal Jellyfin player.
- External players: VLC fails too (while it worked fine on the 2nd gen Mi Box), but Nova Video Player works.
Additionally, if I connect via a browser on the same Mi Box, videos play smoothly, so the issue seems clearly related to the Jellyfin Android TV client on this device.
Has anyone else faced the same situation?
Is this a known problem with the 3rd gen Mi Box client, and is there a recommended workaround or setting to adjust?
Thanks for any advice!
