Problem identifying actors with the same name

Is there any way to improve actor identification? I have the film Sheena, from 1984, and when I went to check if the information was correct I realized that Michael Shannon was in the film. But it wasn't the Michael Shannon that everyone knows, it was another actor. And I realized that you can't edit the actor just for a specific film. Is there a way to resolve these disparities?
