    Purpose of the folder view

What are the differences to regular libraries?

I added a "folder view" to my Jellyfin server, but basically it seems to be just again the same what I see without this folder view.
    Maybe I did something wrong?

    For example:

The library "MOVIES" shows exactly the same as what I see below "MOVIES" when I first enter "Folders".

    But something be different, or?

I also don't see the name of sub folders, something I would have expected below "Folders".

    Did I misunderstand, or misconfigured?

    Many thanks!

Some users have folder structures that don't conform to our documentation, but they don't want to change their organization. Folder view is for showing those users.

    Ah, OK,

So it is showing the folders only when the movies are badly named?

I would like to get a real folder view, just the names of the folders like with a file browser.
That would be useful for all, also those people you mentioned.

Right now ... it is a bit strange.
I will remove this folder view again for noe.

    Many thanks for the explanation!
