I have an nvidia quadro p400 for transcoding. Generally, it works totally fine. When I try to do tonemapping, though, it can't quite keep up, and the resulting video stutters on the client. I can't remember where I read this, but it seems it's more related to the clock/memory speed of the GPU itself since it's not actually implemented in hardware like the encoder.

Does anyone have recommendations for something (cheap) that can keep up? Need something 1 slot to fit in my Dell R530.

Sparkle just released a line of low profile Arc GPUs. Their A310 model is the only one that would fit in a 1U chassis.

Whoops typo. It's a 530 so it's actually 2U. But the problem is the way the daughter card is laid out, it only accepts a 1-slot GPU so that A310 wouldn't work.

Oh that totally would! Thanks! When I searched I saw the pic for the 380, which wouldn't fit.
