    Hey there!

I couldn't find info about this so I would like to ask about it.

Can you add tags to the folder name of a series? Instead of putting a tag inside the file of each episode or the .nfo file.

For example if I have "Stranger Things (2016)" folder with no .nfo file and no tags metadata inside each file of each episode...
Can you add a tag to the series by putting something in the folder name? For example if I rename it to "Stranger Things (2016) (mystery)" or  "Stranger Things (2016) [mystery]" or  "Stranger Things (2016) {mystery}" etc.

Is something like this possible? Or something similar? To be able to easily apply a tag and keep track of what you have inside Jellyfin by filtering by a certain tag.

I don't see how you would directly in the item folder without a .NFO file or editing a file deep in the Jellyfin cache/config wherever the tags are located.

EDIT: Or using like an SQL metadata manager with a GUI but I think I tried that before and Jellyfin wouldn't allow me to make any edits. It was more trouble than it was worth.
I complain about Jellyfin a lot and have no idea what I'm doing.

So I guess the only easy way to have tag for series is to use something like mkvtoolnix to add custom tag to each file for each episode?

Hmm...I'm not an official Jelly rep so I can't say for sure, but if you try it and it works then go for it. Upside-down-face

I'm actually wanting to remove all the tags from my server. I never use them and some of the tags are just odd and don't really represent the media well. I'd rather have the extra bit of space.
