    Well, it's 1:44am and my brain's out of steam to keep searching for an answer, so here I am creating a new thread...

    A couple of days ago I performed a long-overdue update - OS update from ubuntu 18.04 LTS to 22.04 LTS, Jellyfin update from 10.8 to the current 10.9.6, and a whip 'round among the clients (some of which haven't been used for many months) to get them to the current client version (Android and Android TV).

    Thankfully (surprisingly?) there were only a couple of tiny issues more revolving around the OS updates than the Jellyfin updates, so everything appears to be running perfectly.

    What I've just noticed though - and I can't really remember whether this was the case before or not - is that on the Android TV client, release years are no longer displayed on the home/library pages. Instead, I get the ratings (content rating & review rating) under the title. The regular Android client (on my 'phone) still displays the release year under the title, as does the web client.

    I've looked through the settings on the client and all I could find was whether or not to display the review rating.

    Can anyone confirm that I'm not going crazy and that something has indeed changed since I last took notice? And more relevantly, is there any way to return the display of the release year?

    Many thanks in advance Face-with-head-bandage

    The release year is in the top left below the title.

    Many thanks for the reply.

    I must apologise that I wasn't quite clear in my original post; what I'm talking about is the home screen display which shows an expanded view including the title and release year (or in the case of Android TV now, the content rating and review rating). I do remember now that the library screen doesn't show any information under the posters Face-with-hand-over-mouth .

    Comparing clients, I get the following;

    I think you might just be misremembering. I have some clients running older versions and they look the same, no year in that space. I'm all about the year of release when i'm watching something too, and i've always had JFforAndroidTV set to click through to the media's page rather than direct play, cause that's where you needed to see it.

    But, now that im thinking about it; if you had your library set to 'Prefer embedded titles over filenames' and those had included the year in the title, maybe thats how it got displayed previously?

    I think you may be right. Too many long days, too little sleep, and too long since I last personally used Android TV (I have a living room going to waste, doing most of my viewing in my office on the computer Weary-face)
