I'd like to propose a small enhancement to the backdrop image behavior in the Android (or Android TV) app. Currently, under Settings > Display > Show Backdrop Image, enabling this option causes the backdrop art to appear in two ways:
As a background on the movie detail page (which looks great and adds polish).
As a full-screen background when hovering over a movie poster in the main library view (which can feel a bit overwhelming or visually busy).
My request is to separate these two behaviors into distinct settings, such as:
☑ Show Backdrop on Movie Detail Page
☐ Show Backdrop on Poster Hover/Selection
This would allow users to enjoy the immersive visual experience when viewing movie details, without triggering the full-screen backdrop effect on every hover or selection — which can be distracting and hard on the eyes, especially when browsing large libraries.
I think this would offer users a lot more control over the UI aesthetic and improve overall usability.
