    Hi,

Issue: eac3 not recognized as external audio.
Partial solution: Editing the extension to ac3 makes it available (it is successfully recognized as eac3).
I'm looking for a full solution that will add eac3 extension permanently.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I read in the past a solution that mentioned to edit a configuration file and add there another unsupported extension.
I was unable to find this topic again, here or on github / reddit.

    Searching my 'config' folder, I found: [branding.xml  dlna/  encoding.xml  logging.default.json  metadata.xml  migrations.xml  network.xml  system.xml]
There was no audio extension mention within.

Using Jellyfin 10.8.10. Later versions don't work due to hardware sadly.
Familiar with Linux, not familiar with C# yet.
    Thanks for trying to help!

What hardware do you have that is limiting you to 10.8.10?

Regarding the "config file" you've mentioned. I don't think there is a config file like you've described. It is probably the codec profiles in the Jellyfin's code that you'd need to modify. It probably would be a simple change, but it is also possible this issue was fixed in a later version.

    Many thanks for the help.
I have 'Intel Celeron N5105' with QTS 5.2.

I previously tried to upgrade both the players and the server which resulted in the videos only displaying as a infinite loading cover image.
Anyway, I'm not looking to solve it. I will someday upgrade to docker.

    Many thanks again. Smiling-face
