    • Running JF 10.10.3 via casaos
    • Running Jellyfin 2.6.2 on a Pixel 8 Pro
    • Chromecast Ultra

When casting to Chromecast Ultra from mobile device, the "Ready to cast" message appears with a black screen. Trying to play media does not play media.

Any help or insights would be appreciated!

Upgrade to 10.10.5 to ensure this isn't a bug that has been fixed.

If it doesn't fix the issue, share your jellyfin log via privatebin.net as well as how the Jellyfin container is configured in CasaOS.

Switch port 7359 and 1900 to UDP. Both of those ports only use UDP.

Also, do you have Emby running on the same host? Is that why Jellyfin is published on port 8097?

Updated both ports to be UDP. I do not have Emby. Port 8097 was the default port from the casa installation.

I pulled the logs after the updates link. Still getting the black screen with Ready to cast.

    Got it to work?

After you mentioned the 8097 port not being 8096, I updated the Local HTTP port number in Jellyfin to match 8097. I also cleared the Android Jellyfin app data and cache. I'm now able to cast to my Chromecast Ultra and play media from my Jellyfin mobile app.

Do you mean "I'm NOW able to cast"?

But what you've described definitely makes sense.  I'm thinking that the casting function uses the configured port IN JELLYFIN to advertise how to communicate between Jellyfin and the Chromecast.  The port translation in CasaOS breaks that.
