Guess even Jellyfin 50.x will still have this bug, but I haven't given up hope yet.

Case in point is the old Metropolis movie with the following folder structure:
    Code:
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Metropolis (1927) - [Welcome To The Machine].mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Metropolis (1927) - [Colorized].mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Metropolis (1927) - [Standard].mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Extras\Reconstruction & Restoration Credits.mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Extras\Journey to Metropolis.mkv"

It then shows up as a folder with the attached layout, giving me three movie entries with the correct dropdown options, but I can't eliminate the useless folder and duplication.

Before anyone asks: I'm using the IMDB ID in the folder name because using the TMDB ID causes its own set of problems, even in 10.9.11 on Win11 Pro, Jellyfin still runs into plenty of troubles with multiple versions of movies.
And yes, I'm using mixed mode libraries for each language because I don't want to multiply my management effort of tons of franchises that include both movies and shows.
I'm aware that JF treats this as its red-headed step child, making it the usual place where its bugs become even more apparent than the (by devs) "preferred" library types.

The portion of the file name before the "version" information needs to be EXACTLY the same as the folder name.

    So something like this.

    Code:
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136] - [Welcome To The Machine].mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136] - [Colorized].mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136] - [Standard].mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Extras\Reconstruction & Restoration Credits.mkv"
    "I:\Video_other\D\Metropolis (1927) [imdbid-tt0017136]\Extras\Journey to Metropolis.mkv"

    Thanks!
After screwing around with some cleanup tasks and moving the whole shebang from one drive to another to force all parsing/cleanup methods to fire, it did what it was supposed to

Is that a new deviation from normal behavior?
With single-file movies, only the folder needs the online database ID, and that's then inherited by the content (like "J:\Video_other\K\SIGNAL - The Movie – Cold Case Investigation Unit (2021) [tmdbid-768480]\SIGNAL - The Movie – Cold Case Investigation Unit (2021).mkv").

For single movies, the file name does not need to be the same as the folder. This rule applies only when you need the "multiple versions" functionality.
