    SOLVED: Regenerate trickplay images

How can I regenerate trickplay images on specific media items?

    Hello!

Some of my media items accidentally had trickplay images generated while the media files were incomplete, and now they have glitches all over them. Is there any way to specify that those media items should have their trickplay images regenerated the next time the scheduled task is run?

    Thanks,

They will not regenerate when the job runs. For the show or movie you will need to rescan it and "replace all images". That will trigger jellyfin to regenerate the trickplays.

Re-scanning is the "Refresh metadata" option when you click the triple dots on a media item?

Just as a FYI, with v10.9.3, I assume you'll need to keep the "Extract trickplay images during the library scan" option enabled in the library settings for the manual rescan with "replace all images" to actually replace the trickplay files.

With v10.9.3, I replaced all metadata for a video and chose the "replace all images" option too. Then according to my logs, no trickplay file was regenerated. My system CPU didn't increase too, so I know nothing happened.
I have the extract trickplay during a scan option disabled, so only the scheduled task will handle them.

So if you want to force a trickplay regeneration, enable that option if you haven't yet.

Brilliant, that's exactly what I needed. Thanks!
