Missing letter A in alphabetical list

Missing letter A in alphabetical list

In the alphabetical vertical list shown on the right of the screen it starts with the letter 'B' and not 'A'.
This means all my items which start with the letter 'A' are missing.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?
