Another mod suggested that these are SRT subs that were directly converted to ASS subs without removing the SRT font changes.

The start of the ASS subs you shared does have "SrtEdit" declared. Is that what you're using to create the subs?
Also, I don't think this is the full sub file. Could you share the entire sub file? I'm thinking that your issue might be located in another part of the subs.

What client are you using to watch the videos with the subs? I don't see any issue with the subs?
