    Transcoding Stopping for IPTV Streams

Hi, newer Jellyfin user here! It’s been working great for most applications, but I am running into an error with transcoding stopping randomly (usually after approximately 5 minutes) when streaming IPTV to a jellyfin web client (remote computer). I’ve tried enabling Hardware Acceleration (AMD AMF) with no change. No error code is given, the end of the ffmpeg log (attached) just says [q] command received. Exiting.

This issue does not occur when using Jellyfin Media Player (since it Direct Plays, therefore nullifying the need for transcoding), however I'm not sure if I can install JMP on all remote desktop clients due to potential permission issues (work).

Server is my desktop computer, with a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, with AMD RX 6650 XT GPU. The client has a good internet connection (>100Mb/s) and the server/home connection is Gigabit.

    Thanks for any help!

I had this issue in the past and it was my ISP (virgin media uk) interfering with  the IPTV stream.  Going through a VPN immediately fixed the issue and when i eventually changed to a better provider the issue disappeared completely (no need for the VPN).

You could select the "auto loop live streams" option in the Live TV menu, but as JMP is already running fine, i'm not sure if this will do anything, but worth a shot!

    Appreciate the reply!

Enabling auto loop live streams unfortunately did not help. I will dig into VPN in the next few days.

Adding in a bit more info - the log above represents trying to stream a 720p 60fps channel, which quit after 5 min. I tried to stream a 720p 30fps channel today, and had the a similar crash, but after 25 minutes.

Further setup details, I am using a reverse proxy (Caddy) and DuckDNS, which were set up using the guides here.

Also found an old thread on the forums here that I think is the same issue.

Is it possible you can test a remote client connecting directly to Jellyfin and bypassing the reverse proxy, just to rule caddy out?
