I can run JF on my local network, no issues. I set it up to use port 8096. I have it on my router to forward port 8096 to the computer that is running JF.

Yet when I try to connect to HTTP://HOMEIP:8096 nothing happens. Nothing loads, it just goes around and around.

I checked with Windows Firewall, and made a rule to allow jellyfin.exe both inbound and outbound.

I even temporarily disabled windows firewall.

No idea what I am doing wrong.

Can your port be seen from outside your network? Use a checker like canyouseeme to test. That's your first step. If you don't get a connection then it's likely still a port forwarding issue. If you can be seen then you can look for other issues to troubleshoot.

Forward port 80 to 8096 an 443 to 443. Youe ISPs router might be blocking traffic on 80 to 80, spectrum is known for it. Try that. Also if your on a VPN you need to tunnel it back to the local network.
