It's worth mentioning that the upcoming version 0.18 will no longer required the subtitles to be extracted and can direct play them.

Ok that sounds good Do you know when 0.18 will release?

The 0.18 release will require Jellyfin 10.10. My policy is to not require a server version for at least a month after release. So 0.18 will likely land somewhere in December/January. No promises though!
