Hello there folks,
I've been using Jellyfin quite happily for a few years. I host my server on a networked Synology device, and I access it over my local network from my Windows PC (via ethernet) and my Android phone (via wifi). I don't have any proxies or anything else set up for accessing Jellyfin from outside my local network. Since setting it up, I haven't had many issues connecting with the server, except when circumstances cause the local address of the Synology device to change and I need to update my browser and app.
I recently rebooted my local router (I unplugged it to change the furniture it was sitting on, no technical reason), and since then the Android app on my phone no longer connects to the server. My laptop connects to it just fine, and I know what local address I should be using, but the Android app complains that the correct address points to an "Unsupported version or product". I've attached a screenshot of the error message to the post.
I haven't consciously updated the Jellyfin server recently; according to the dashboard, I'm running Version: 10.7.6, OS: Linux, Architecture: X64. I also haven't consciously updated the Android app recently; it was apparently last updated on September 2nd, and is currently version 2.5.0.
Why am I suddenly getting a message that my server is unsupported? What can I do to try to resolve this?
My IT skills and knowledge are admittedly limited. I have some basic computer familiarity, but I'm not familiar at all with how networks function or with just about any command line workflows, and I found troubleshooting Jellyfin while initially setting it up to be difficult (this is why I never set up proxies for accessing the server outside of my home), so I'd be grateful for advice that assume little pre-existing knowledge or context.
Thanks!
