No 5.1 sound

I can't make the 5.1 channels sound to work of any way.
I've put audio-channel=5.1 in mpv.conf but still no 5.1 sound.

I've an usb 5.1 external sound card and a set of 5.1 speakers Logitech X540. They only support analog audio, no Arc or HDMI.

I use windows and in the same computer I've 5.1 sound when I download a movie from Jellyfin and play it in PotPlayer. It works perfectly. But if I play it from Jellyfin no 5.1.

I want to use mpv because I want to use an external player for the 5.1 sound.
Can I link to Potplayer instead?

Check the client settings for Jellyfin Media Player. There are some audio channel settings that you might need to change there.

Are you using the Jellyfin Media Player(JMP)? It uses an embedded MPV player. If this is the case, there is no need to edit an mpv.conf file. Go to settings -> Client Settings then under Audio choose 5.1 Surround Sound.

I changed to 5.1 in client settings but no 5.1.

I found out that the 5.1 sound is in fact working. Strange, but the problem is that I'm watching a movie that doesn't have surround sound. If I test it with a 5.1 movie it sounds well in the Jellyfin media player.

The PotPlayer must be creating some kind of virtual surround that works amazing in 5.1. In PotPlayer all movies are 5.1.

Can I create this virtual surround in Jellyfin media player?

This is not a feature in JMP.

No. You'll have to modify the source code for JMP to allow for that.

It must be very hard to made the code to link and play in PotPlayer, and then recompile.

Is there a script to find all movies that have 5.1 surround sound and create a collection with them?
