Relatively new Jellyfin user, loving it so far.
But I have been running into an issue trying to identify an anime by the name Saber Marionette J Again.

The folder is currently named as: Saber Marionette J Again (1997)
I have also attempted naming it: Saber Marionette J Again (1997) [imdbid-tt0290282] and Saber Marionette J Again [imdbid-tt0290282]

All attempts keep identifying it as the original Saber Marionette J (which is imdbid tt0211605)

Attempting to manually identify with the imdbid give just this result:

Not an imdb, but a tmdb result. The name shown in the scrap is correct, and so is the cover image, but that id from the tmdb is just the first series again.
So it just identifies as the first series no matter what.

Long story short- It's not identifying the imdb id.

    salut

essaie de le nommer comme suis : /Saber Marionette J Again/Saison_01

c'est un underscore (et pas un tiret) entre saison et 01 !
    regards !

    https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/25850-j/se...uage=en-US

It's all one show on tmdb

Season 00 Saber Marionette J Again
    Season 01 Saber Marionette J
    Season 02  Saber Marionette J to X

So if using tmdb, you would need to combine the different series into one and rename the files and seasons to match.

Thanks for the advice, but that solution didn't work.

I'm trying to use imdb. The issue is that it only identifies the tmdb.

Jellyfin doesn't pull metadata from IMDb; it's just used for identification. If you haven't changed anything in the library, then TMDB is the default metadata provider.

    Saber Marionette J (1996)\
--Season 00 (J again episodes go here)
    ---S00E01.mkv
    ---S00E02.mkv
    --Season 01 (the original series)
    ---S01E01.mkv
    ---S02E02.mkv
