Sometimes I like to browse my Plex library via bitrate. I'm kind of a video nerd. Is this possible in Jellyfin?

AFAIK, no.
There is the "Reports" plugin that lists some technical information for your videos, but not bit rate.

Thanks for the reply. I've added it to my feature request.
I like Jellyfin. There are things about it which are nice. But there are still a few things like this that are holding it back for primary use. But for the time being, setting it up as a backup server works.

Anybody know if this has been added to Jellyfin yet? Or if there is a way to do it. The ability to filter by bitrate and also resolution would be really helpful.

That's a bit disappointing. I guess I was kind of hoping for more number based resolution filtering like 240p, 360p, 480i/p, 720p, 1080i/p, 1440p, 2160p, etc. Similar to Youtube or Plex. Same with bitrate as you can filter by bitrate in Plex. Seems like it would be a fairly simple thing to implement given all the other search parameters that already exist, but I'm not a developer so I could be way off on that. Thank you for your feedback, seems we just can't have it all with any of these platforms. Either we go closed source with something like Plex to get all the features or opensource with Jellyfin and only get the basic features. Be great if one platform could do it all. |
