I think I've been having a similar issue for the past four or so 10.9.x versions.
The "issue" happens about 66% of the time when adding new music albums.
I've attached screenshots labeled 1-4.
Screenshot #1 - after adding a new album, I perform a full library scan. On the home page, under recently added, I can see the album cover, but the title is incorrect (it includes the artist name when it shouldn't) and the artist is missing.
Screenshot #2 - what we see within the album. The artist and genre info is missing.
Screenshot #3 - after performing a search for missing metadata on the album. The artist is found immediately. The title gets fixed and the artist appears under the album cover.
Screenshot #4 - within the album the artist and genres show up correctly.
Within the logs the only line mentioning this album after the scan is this:
