    Why would one of these play but not the other?

    Its possible the file is corrupt or malformed.

    You can try remuxing the file to fix any corruption in the container. This assumes the video and audio are fine.

    What OS are you running and how is Jellyfin installed? I can provide the ffmpeg command to remux your file.

    Also, can you provide your full jellyfin logs via pastebin and the full media info for both files? The Jellyfin UI has an option to display the media info.
