Thanks for reply.
My setup is:
TV: LG CX OLED 4K. (EARC enabled, passthrough on)
Sound: Sonos arc ultra, 2 era 300 as surround, and a sonos sub 4.
According to my research it should support TrueHD Atmos.
Problem is that LG doesnt allow TrueHD passthrough directly from an app. (it must come from something external, like Nvidia shield, blueray player etc.)
So, after a bit of tinkering with PLEX i found out that i cant get FullHD 7.1 DB Atmos, instead i get Dolby digital plus 7.1.
If i chose EAC3 5.1 soundfile, it shows me as Atmos in the sonos app. So question there is whats better? (5.1 Atmos or DD+ 7.1)
Regardless. In JF i actually managed to get DB Atmos from both of the audio options 5.1 and 7.1. But only on one film (avatar 2).
When trying same thing on topgun mavrick, it gave me DB Multichannel 5.1. (on TrueHD atmos 7.1 audio file).
When trying this on plex, i get DD+ 7.1. So here plex is a +.
Both on plex and jf, video start transcoding if i select a subtitle (psg).
JF does it both in Windows web, and Tv app.
Plex only on app. (i think?)
My brother has an Nvidia shield, and has tested both PLEX and JF, from what i understand he got both to work audiowise and without the subtitle transcoding.
Now for JF i used the Subtitle addon that can download directly and worked fine, issue then was sometimes subtitles didnt add up to the sound.
I have tried every combination under the moon when it comes to setting on the tv and on JF combined, sadly cant get it to work.
I even got KODI downloaded on the webOS and linked it to JF via the addons. Even got dolby vision prompted instead of HDR, but couldnt get anything more than stereo PCM out of that.
I cant find any settings u mention from your C1. I have colorcontrol downloaded, will check if i find any hidden setting via the service menu (used it to disable TPC and GSR).
It seems that my only option is to ether play my media via PC HDMI to get atmos (but worse hdr), or to get something like an Nvidia shield to be able to access TrueHD atmos 7.1. (Or just be happy with DD+ 7.1 for now)
Sadly it doesnt say in the sonos app if its 5.1 atmos or 7.1 atmos or if its TrueHD/DD+ specificly. Im getting the Dolby atmos logo in the app when playing TrueHD 7.1 from JF but no clue if its TrueHD or not. Im guessing not, since, again, LG doesnt do Truehd bypass from app.
