Hey everyone. I'm just getting started with jellyfin and i can get it up and running on my pc, but if i try to connect with the jellyfin app, i can't. It just says "Tried 'X' candidates for input, without success.". I'm just typing in my IP address into the 'Host' field, but it doesn't work. I've tried my public IP address, and the IPv4 Default Gateway thing, but nothing seems to work. I'm not using any vpn, anti virus or anything else. I'm connect to the same wifi just fine, and my pc is using an ethernet cable to the correct router. Can some help me figure out how to fix this? I really wanna get it working on my phone. Thank you <3

What OS is the server running? And when you say "my IP address" I'm assuming you mean the 192.168.X.X address for your jellyfin server.

Click on start and type "Resource Monitor" > click on the Network tab > expand the Listening Ports table.

Find jellyfin.exe on port 8096. What does it say in the "Firewall Status" column (far right).

There's kind of 2 versions that are swapping around almost, one says "Allowed, not restricted" and one says "Allowed, restricted"

Jellyfin uses multiple ports. Click on the jellyfin.exe on port 8096 so it highlights the row. I need to know which one is restricted.

So it isn't the Windows firewall.

What Jellyfin server version are you running? I'm assuming 10.9.10. And what OS is your phone running? What version is the Jellyfin client?

Double check you are using the right address for the server.

Click start, type "cmd" > type "ipconfig /all > find the "IPv4 Address" field.

I'm using jellyfin version 10.9.10. My phone is running android version 14, and the jellyfin client (im assuming you mean for my phone), is just the one I downloaded from the play store.

I've also just tried using the latest github release (v2.6.2) for android
