Im new to this stuff so bare with me..
Ok, so i installed the Jellyfin app on my LG CX 4k OLED, but i cant get any 7.1 Dolby True HD to work via the LG app. I have a SONOS surround system connected via HDMI ARC.
When i play any content, it gives me Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1.
Some off the Movie files have Subtitles. When i select any Subtitle it starts transcoding and the whole picture changes. (colors are off etc.) It says Subtitle/container CODEC not supported. (HEVC Main 10, MKV container).
I used MKVToolNIX to remove all subtitles/audio files except the 7.1 TrueHD, but still only get Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1.
I have Dolby Atmos Tests on my Jellfyfin library. When i play them its same thing = Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1.
BUT
When i go into PLAYBACK setting in the JF TV app, and select "Enable TRUE HD" things change.
When i try to play my Dolby Atmos tests it starts a voice promt - "You're listening to the Dolby Digital Companion Track, not the Dolby Atmos track. This disc is intended to demonstrate..."
When i try playing movies with TRUE HD 7.1 DOLBY ATMOS, there is no sound at all.
ONE Movie works, when "Enable true HD is off" it gives me Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1, when its on, it gives me DB Atmos.
But the rest are PCM 5.1 when "TRUE HD OFF" or no audio at all when "TRUE HD ON".
Passthrough is enabled on the tv and ive had no problems getting ATMOS to work from netflix etc, or from my windows pc via hdmi when using VLC.
After a bit of testing, any sound coming from the PC via hdmi to the tv shows up as ATMOS in the Sonos app.. so no clue whats what.
So.. ONE movie works as intended, everything else looses audio when i enable "TRUE HD" in playback settings.
Is it just bad/wrong files or what am i missing?
Movie files are 2160p.BluRay.REMUX.HEVC.TrueHD.7.1.Atmos 50-80Gb.
Any suggestions?
Best regards
---EDIT---
I switched to PLEX... everything there works as intended. To i get TRUEHD dolby atmos? no, thats because apparently LG doesnt allow TrueHD passthrough from app, so i will need something like NVIDIA shield to get 7.1 TrueHD atmos.
But i do get Dolby Digital PLUS 7.1.
Sad to have to switch to plex to get the things working, i liked jellyfin overall.
