After upgrading to Jellyfin Media Player v1.11.1, I couldn't play any videos. Only the background poster of the video would appear. My server version is 10.10.1. I tried deleting the two Jellyfin Media Player folders in C:\Users\AppData\Local and also removed all devices from the web Dashboard, but nothing worked. Eventually, I had to revert back to Jellyfin Media Player v1.9.1 to get playback working again. Weary-face

Can you replicate the problem with 1.11.1 and share both the server log and the JMP log via pastebin?

The log is too long, and I found a section that I’m not sure is the cause. This is the log from Jellyfin Media Player. https://pastebin.com/9YRbV1FB

and where is the server log? Face-with-crossed-out-eyes

If your server is on Windows, it is in C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\log.

Can you zip the entire JMP log and attach it to a forum post? I need to see the JMP startup.

Alright, the server log file is too large to upload, so I’ve put them all into Google Drive.

What are the specs on your laptop running JMP?

Also, it looks like you have transcoding disabled. Based on what I am seeing in the JMP logs, you may need to adjust JMP to not attempt hardware accelerated decoding.

So, do I need to disable hardware acceleration?

For whatever reason, during the JMP startup, only MPEG2 and VC1 are available for hardware acceleration. Try reinstall your AMD graphics drivers? Ensure you are running the latest?

This is the exact same issue I got with Jellyfin v1.11.1 player on two different Windows PC... one running Win11 and the other on Win10.  After finding this thread, I reinstalled v1.9.1 and playback is working again.

My files are stored on a Synology DS418 NAS running the latest Jellyfin in Docker.   It doesn't seem to be the server software as the videos will play in a browser, or on my Roku TV, or on my iPad.

I don't know if my log files could be any help to you...  But I could dig them up if need be?

My Jellyfin is installed on a QNAP NAS using Docker. I'm using MediaPlayer version 1.9.1 or 1.10.1 without any issues, but I think the hardware decoding problem is on the PC MediaPlayer side. I'll wait and see if the next version fixes it. Face-with-monocle
