I'm getting Playback Error: playback failed to a fatal player error only on web browsers. Playing the same video on my phone using the the default jellyfin app results in transcoding using hardware acceleration. How can I fix this error

Can you share your jellyfin and ffmpeg logs? And what are your hardware specs and what OS are you running?

Do you have AV1 hardware encoding enabled? I don't think your iGPU supports that. Try disabling that.

The error still occurs with AV1 disabled

Post a screenshot of your transcode settings.

If you scroll further down you need to unselect "Allow encoding in AV1 format" under "Encoding format options"

You can keep AV1 decoding enabled, you just can't encode in AV1
