i uninstalled it, restarted jellyfin but still have the same problem. video flashes and then comes black screen with audio only

Access your Jellyfin from a browser and press F12 to open the dev console. Start playing a video. Do any of the console messages stand out?

Let's try reinstalling Jellyfin. We are going to backup your jellyfin data, just in case, but this shouldn't touch it.

have just discovered something. when i watch in picture mode i have the movie window . see the screen attached

Do you have a theme or custom CSS?

except the default one, i have just add some branding and custom css related to branding . this has been working for 2 weeks without problem i don't think it is caused by this.

Remove the branding, just to eliminate that as a factor. If that doesn't work, use the reinstall procedure I outlined above.
