I run this on an old system using WHS 2011, don't laugh,  if it ain't broke, don't fix it   Smiling-face-with-sunglasses     I can still get things running by starting the console, but it was nice to have the visible tray icon with autostart/start/stop etc..

Unfortunately, 4.8.1 won't install unless someone knows a work around.

    Cheers on the new release!

I am having the same issue on Server 2019

I installed the latest stable 10.8.x version of Jellyfin on my Win 10 workstation, and copied the Jellyfin.Windows.Tray.exe and associated files to my Windows server 2019 running 10.9.1. The tray app seems to work fine using this workaround.

Damn!  I tried that last night and it still didn't work,  I will give it another go and see if I flubbed it and didn't overwrite the new with the older.

    Cheers

EDIT:   Yessss,   it worked this time.  I must have missed one of the associated files.  Thank you!
