SOLVED: Phone app not working when I disconnect WiFi

I'm running Jellyfin on my windows 11 desktop, and the phone app only works when I'm on the connected to certain WiFis.

I'm running Jellyfin on my windows 11 desktop, temporarily, until I buy a NAS. When I try to connect to jellyfin on my tv, it works. When I try to connect on phone while connected to certain WiFis, it works. But when I try to connect on phone while connected to other wifis or using mobile data, it doesn't work. The message on the screenshot appears. I'm spanish, so the message translates to:
"The connection could not be established.
Please check the host name and your network connection."
What can I do? I want to be able to access jellyfin from outside my house on my phone.

Welcome to the Jellyfin forum :-)

To be able to help you further, we need to know what you have done so far?

Have you enabled remote access in Jellyfin?
Have you portforwarded on your router?
Do you have a domain, to make secure connections from outside the network?

If you have "allow remote connections" & "enable automatic port mapping" enabled in your Jellyfin Networking settings, it might be as simple as changing the IP address on your phone's app from your local wifi address to your external (public) address

Oh my god thank you! I didn't realize I had to enter my public IP address instead of my private one. You can't imagine how much time I spent searching for tutorials, all for this simple change! 😅🤣🤣
