    SOLVED: Direct playback pausing/loading?

Playing movies and they pause randomly as if loading even though it direct playing the file.

Tried both WIFI and ethernet USB adapters with no change. I used iPerf to test the connect between a laptop and the fire cube and got 190Mbps, so my desktop PC is the only thing with this bandwidth limitation.

I knew it was gonna be something dumb. Apparently NordVPN, even when disconnected, is limiting upload LAN speed. Closed the program and LAN speed is 950Mbps. Sigh.

Apparently NordVPN's "Threat Protection Pro"  'browser protection' and 'ad blocker' tools put a crazy limit on upload speed. I had assumed it turned everything off when I clicked 'disconnect', but that junk is still on.

I've run into something similar before. Everything looked fine, direct play, low CPU, strong connection. Turned out the culprit was the router’s bufferbloat messing with high bitrate streams, especially with Dolby Vision. Once I switched to Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi for the box, it smoothed out. Also, weirdly enough, browser extensions like ad blockers can mess with playback sometimes. I once had to dig through https://total-adblock.pissedconsumer.com...rvice.html when an update broke my player overlays. Worth testing playback with all extensions off or trying a different client app entirely.
