So I'm having a serious issue with my server that is pissing me off to a great extent. I have all my movies stored in folders setup according to TRaSH guides. I'm using hardlinking. I want to be able to customize the posters in Jellyfin, but every time I do, it keeps changing them back the next day. I have tried unchecking "posters" from the metadeta it pulls, but that just removes all posters entirely. I want Jellyfin to grab all posters and metadeta for any new import, but I want to be able to customize posters at will using any of the providers I've selected on the backend by clicking the dots on the movie, editing images, searching the image I want to change (be it poster, cleartart, banner, etc...), and selecting one from the provider I like best (fanart, TMDB, etc...). How do I do that without Jellyfin constantly replacing the choices I've made manually??
For more data, this morning I tried something a bit different. I went into the actual movie poster folder in data/media/movies and found the movie I wanted to change. I noticed there was a poster file in there called "poster.jpg". It was the image Jellyfin pulls automatically. I opened a new tab, went into Jellyfin, and changed the poster for that movie. Then I went back to the movie's folder tab and refreshed it. The poster.jpg file is now gone. Not replaced, just gone. But in Jellyfin, I do indeed see the new poster image I selected displayed. Why isn't Jellyfin saving the new poster as a file in the movie's folder?? I don't want to have to manually save 600+ movie files in their respective folders, and especially not if they're just gonna get replaced the next day! What am I doing wrong here? And yes, I do indeed have "Save artwork into media folders" enabled in the dashboard settings.
