I have been running jellyfin for a while now and really love it. I noticed an update had been released and now non of my videos are working anymore. I tried to change the transcoding options but none of the settings allow me to play my videos.

I have an old pc running as a server using Ubuntu. Got jellyfin running in docker.

Hardware is a old Dell pc 9020 with a i7 4790 processor and 16gb ram. No videocard yet.

    Can someone help?

In your transcode settings uncheck all decode options and only set the following:

    1. H264
    2. MPEG2
    3. VC1
    4. VP9

Any other decoding options will not work with the iGPU of your CPU.
By having them unchecked, the CPU will be the responsible hardware for transcoding.

As for encoding options, uncheck both HEVC and AV1 as the iGPU doesn't support encoding to either of those.

    Thank you for your help.

On the server site i disabled hevc. I could not find the networks setting you where talking about.

They have changed the transcoding options to a dropdown with an automatic feature that switches to another one when one fails. But kon of them are working.

Maybe the hardware is too old now? Which is strange because it worked two days ago.

On my tv the app still doesnt play any videos or have settings for transcosing.

It was a typo on efficient's part. I corrected their post. They meant to go to the TRANSCODE settings to uncheck all the codecs your GPU does not support. Check the boxes efficient mentioned, leave the rest unchecked.

Play a file that fails, then navigate to Dashboard -> Logs and share the ffmpeg log that is generated. Also, what transcoding option are you using, post a screenshot of your settings.

I have a similar problem, but with 4K. So far nothing has happened because on the previous version of the client on AndroidTV I watched the series and it worked great, and now there are terrible lags. My server is on a DELL WYSE 5020 without transcoding (Debian(OMV) + Docker).
