Heya. I’m Scott, or MarioLuigi0404, though I answer to most any shorthand of my username.

I run my Jellyfin server from my main gaming/general use PC, with a Ryzen 5 5600X, an RTX 3060, and 32GB RAM running Windows 11. It’s a great all-rounder machine, though perhaps one day I’ll have a dedicated server rack or something.

I primarily use Jellyfin for managing and watching my anime library, but I also use it for music and would like to use it for other media like manga or audiobooks if the interface for those improves. For reference, I mostly use the Desktop client, the iOS client, and the Roku client.

I have something of a vested interest in anime subtitles and typesetting, and as such I get a lot out of the Desktop client using MPV as the player. Though, the Roku client isn’t so compatible and relies on transcoding (which has some issues but that can be saved for another post). Anyhow, many of my posts will likely relate to subtitle support.

Happy to be here, and here’s hoping that Jellyfin continues to get better and better!

    Hello!

Eddy here, I've been using Jellyfin for a little over a year after switching from Emby, I use my server for general media storage (music, movies, and shows).

I have a pretty simple set-up right now, a 1 TB hard drive connected to my laptop, but I'm hoping to upgrade it real soon so I joined this forum! Grinning-face

    Hi. My name is milson.

I have been using Jellyfin for a short while now, but not everything is running smoothly, so I'm trying to get some help here.

    Hey there!

My name is Stephen, and I’m just a couple of weeks into setting up my first Jellyfin server for my movie and TV show collection. I’m hosting my server on Windows.

Hey everyone. My name is Rex. I just started using jellyfin. I put jellyfin on a linux box running lubuntu. The rest of the boxes on our network run windows.

Hi, I run jellyfin on my QNAP NAS with the help of Docker/Portainer. I'm mainly searching for a perfect solution that supports all kind of local movies and TV series media types (w/ DVD/Blu-Ray/4K disc menu support, iso/mkv files, Dolby Vision/HDR10+, all common sound formats like Atmos, True HD, DTS-HD MA etc.). As of now I use a zidoo media player with a forked jellyfin client optimized for that device and granted it direct file access. While I have to switch between the jellyfin and the native zidoo app sometimes (e.g. iso files), I can playback everything on just a single device and get all the advantage of a central media server.

At some point I might switch to jellyfin for music, too as soon as a couple of missing features are implemented. As of now I use Musicbee (Windows) and gmmp (Android) for that purpose with a manual sync approach for star ratings and playlists (partially automated with some scripts).

I'm also willing to subscribe for a recurring donation, soon.
