It says transcoding, not image loss ect. And I have all fps, so it's not transcodingthe image in the webplayer in android phone ? What do you mean "webplayer" in android? Are you using the browser on your phone and not the Android app? I just realized your videos are HDR10. I'm wondering if that is part of the problem. Your phone is trying to direct play the video? What kind of phone do you have.

Sounds like transcoding is disabled or not working..
For more assistant, you need to share log files form Jellyfin. Please use pastebin

It's my fault, I used the wrong words, I mean the default player in the Jellyfin app (on playstore) which is html player. In the browser using html player I have no problem seeing the film. Phone : Poco x4 pro (redmi note 11 pro). Transcoding is working in jellyfin android app because sound is working, the option to see data during the playback info is showing me that transcoding is working with 0 image loss ect. HDR10 is working since it's supported by my CPU and working fine on the html payer from browser. Here is the screenshot from jellyfin webpage : From the android app where I don't have image, only the cover image instead of the movie : Pastebin : https://pastebin.com/Xd0KH9Ji code if pastebin link die : Code: /videos/cae1169f-f460-7694-f3e1-f5d14649b700/hls1/main/403.ts

"I mean the default player in the Jellyfin app (on playstore) which is html player. "
this is where the confusion is; the "official" jellyfin app from the playstore DOES NOT use html and is not an html player if you downloaded something from the playstore that is an html player then it's not the official one and that should be noted when posting; everyone is going to assume the official one is in use

I don't see this in the thread. Why use the web player instead of the integrated player? I'm wondering if the android web player can't scale the video. Your phone resolution is 1080p-ish and the video from the transcode is 4k. A similar problem happens for people with older non-Android TV 1080P Chromecasts and the transcode output is 4K.

In the app, the web player is the integrated one.. That the thing. Otherwise I have Exoplayer (deprecated), and external. The playback settings used in the app are 1080p already, however, like you see in the screenshot, the transcoding is still operating at a higher resolution. So maybe like you said, it's a scaling issue from the integrated player, but also a server problem : it doesn't apply playback settings for the device I'm using. If I use external (vlc) it doesn't transcode and don't work very well depending of the x265 file & this doesn't resolve the main issue with the default player.

I identified the issue with the Jellyfin app on Android:
The integrated player cannot display a video with a resolution higher than the device. The "Maximum Allowed Video Transcoding Resolution" setting does not address the integrated player issue. Instead of selecting an equal or lower resolution than the device, it allows the video to transcode to a higher resolution. Setting 1 : Setting 2 : Setting 3 : |
