    Hi all,

I've searched but did not find a resolution.

I have a few various artist compilation albums and I cannot get them identified properly in Jellyfin.   I've tried appending the discogs album ID to the folder name, I've also tried the 'identify' function from within jellyfin and enter the album name, year and discogs album ID but it still doesn't find anything.

    eg:
    folder path:  \media\music\Various Artists\1992 - Million Sellers The Eighties 5 [r9422433]
album name:   Million Sellers The Eighties 5
    year released: 1992
    discogs album ID: r9422433

    example of songs:
    01 - B. Stewart & C. Dulfer - Lily Was Here.flac
02 - Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up.flac

Is there any way with jellyfin to have it properly scan the album id and show the normal album and track info it does for (solo artist) albums?

    thank you.

I tag my compilations with "Various Artists" as the "albumartist", and individual tracks use the "artist" tag. As a result, all my compilations show up under Various Artists in my library.

I've never tried using Discogs for metadata, but Musicbrainz IDs tend to work well for me.
    Specifics:
    Jellyfin 10.10.7 (docker) on Debian 12.6 // N100 16GB
    Storage: Synology DS220+ CIFS mounts
Clients: Jellyfin4Kodi (Addon Mode), Android, Android TV, Roku, Symfonium

It's been a while since I've used JFin for music but I believe that, it uses both Musicbrainz & Discogs (if plugin is installed) to identify media. As "kandykarter" mentioned, it's very important that your files are tagged properly or compilation albums will not be identified correctly. Apps like "Mp3tag" are great for correctly tagging these albums & have correct matching using either Musicbrainz or Discogs. As mentioned, Album Artist should be tagged as "Various Artists" & "check" the "Compilation" option helps also
