Hi, trying out Jellyfin as a way to make watching shows on my TV nicer than manually clicking through network share on my HTPC. Trying out DLNA on PS4 but struggling so far.
Heya. I’m Scott, or MarioLuigi0404, though I answer to most any shorthand of my username.
I run my Jellyfin server from my main gaming/general use PC, with a Ryzen 5 5600X, an RTX 3060, and 32GB RAM running Windows 11. It’s a great all-rounder machine, though perhaps one day I’ll have a dedicated server rack or something.
I primarily use Jellyfin for managing and watching my anime library, but I also use it for music and would like to use it for other media like manga or audiobooks if the interface for those improves. For reference, I mostly use the Desktop client, the iOS client, and the Roku client.
I have something of a vested interest in anime subtitles and typesetting, and as such I get a lot out of the Desktop client using MPV as the player. Though, the Roku client isn’t so compatible and relies on transcoding (which has some issues but that can be saved for another post). Anyhow, many of my posts will likely relate to subtitle support.
Happy to be here, and here’s hoping that Jellyfin continues to get better and better!
Eddy here, I've been using Jellyfin for a little over a year after switching from Emby, I use my server for general media storage (music, movies, and shows).
I have a pretty simple set-up right now, a 1 TB hard drive connected to my laptop, but I'm hoping to upgrade it real soon so I joined this forum!
My name is Stephen, and I’m just a couple of weeks into setting up my first Jellyfin server for my movie and TV show collection. I’m hosting my server on Windows.
Hey everyone. My name is Rex. I just started using jellyfin. I put jellyfin on a linux box running lubuntu. The rest of the boxes on our network run windows.
